The Seventh Blade

The way of the warrior is never easy, especially when you live your life to and by the code of Bushido, subservient to your Liege' master, and who you have basically pledged your life and your Blade to.....the Blade we are about to talk about is seen here just about to be unsheathed by the famous warrior Princess Takanara, at the battle of the Lotus cliffs, wherein she took her life in the only honorable way open to her after a defeat, she committed Seppuku.....this lithographic print is the only evidence left, that the Seventh Blade actually existed, it was made by a master, a swordsmith named Mira, it is rumoured that the sword was over 900 years old, on the date that it finally disappeared....It was handed down in the Takanara family from its conception, for centuries, finally to fall into the hands of the beautiful Princess Takanara....this blade had been forged from the finest metals, folded and welded over 2000 times, leaving the inner core as hard as sheer granite and the outer layer able to hold a cutting edge that would cut through hardened Japanese bamboo, 3 to 6 inches thick, like a fin through water...all of its outer layer had been hand engraved with the history of the swordsmith Mira, as if he knew this was to be the last blade he ever made, the engraving was intricately carved with inlays of precious metals, like gold, silver, Platinum as we know it called today...this was a weapon made for a God, which is what your Liege' was who you served...they say a finer blade has never been seen or equaled in its sheer quality....I for one would love to know what happened to the blade, after that defeat at the Lotus Cliffs, some say it was destroyed due to the shame that the blade had brought on the family, for not winning the war....but there are some peasants who were in the vicinity at the time of the Seppuku ceremony, that talk of a unknown warrior, carrying off the blade after having been told to destroy it, to this day there has been no sighting of this legendary Seventh Blade, some say it is all a myth, that Mira never did do a Seventh Blade and the story was made up to hide the shame and the disgrace at losing the Lotus cliff Battle......but I say that the legend is true, and that the Lithograph print shows that it existed, I just wish someone would dig deep into their hearts and produce this marvel of a blade....who knows we might just see it reappear in our lifetime, who knows......
