Description

"I have lived to see the last warrior of the wise race of the Quaker BowRiders"....said to have disappeared in the late 2040's, said to have died from starvation, sickness and the last of the colonial wars, they were thought to be lost to mankind forever, we were wrong, one survives....I have seen her....My name is Professor Thugsley, I study ancient and lost civilizations, my last expedition took me to the Himalayas, looking for any clues as to what happened to the proud warrior race known only as the Quaker BowRiders....they were said to be all dead, long lost to man, but then rumours started circulating about a certain woman that was roaming the very highest peaks of the Himalayas, and she was said to be a BowRider, thinking it was impossible, because the last sighting of a BowRider was not long after the Colonial wars between France, England and Russia, they acted as scouts for the English, serving with distinction and honour the whole 7 years of those atrocious wars, and there was scant few left even before the wars due to starvation and sickness, brought to them in their high mountain villages by us, the supposedly civilized races....then after the wars, they just faded away, gone, not a trace could be found of them, that is until the rumours started...the expedition was a long and arduous one, I won't bore you with the details, it was towards the very end of the expedition that God decided to smile upon me...we were camped just at the base of peak 64, busy recording data for some scientific experiment, thinking that the whole expedition was a waste of time, when I seen something move in my right eye's extreme peripheral vision, I sat still as a church mouse, just waiting, thinking what was that, an animal, big foot Ha Ha...when she just appeared, a beautiful, fully matured woman, she moved with a sinuous grace, akin to a panther, head held high, for the proud warrior she was, she approached very carefully, as for me I was too scared to move, unless she unleash that powerful laser bow they were so famous in the handling of...she was dressed as if the snow wasn't even there, what a beautiful woman she was...I heard a shout, one of the porters it turned out to be, I turned my head for a second, when I turned back, she was gone...some people say I imagined it, that I wanted to find her so badly, that my mind conjured up a vision of one, but why did the porter shout, after being browbeaten by all of my learned colleagues, after which the man didn't even know his own name...but I know, I know for a fact, that I have lived to see the last warrior of the Quaker BowRider people.....

The WP is a illustration called Riley Atmosphere by Salamandros, I duplicated it, made a wall, and put a gradient transparent layer across it to give that ethereal feel in Photoshop, that is his Logo on one of the small pics, I hope you like this desktop, it looks awesome in the flesh, thank you, the Original Thug

Wow, nice job on the wall. And I love the little story in the middle. Is there a novel or short story about the bowriders? That little paragraph there had me hooked.

The drawing is awesome as well, I would love to see the original Lineart sometime, but the gradient and the composition really makes her shine.

Love it!
